Milford Youth Center and JAG Receives AMERICORPS WEEK Grant
The Milford Youth Center, in affiliation with The Juvenile Advocacy Group (JAG), has received a grant from the Massachusetts Service Alliance for its Family Week.
On Saturday, May 15th from 10am-2pm AmeriCorps volunteers will be assisting Milford Youth Center staff with painting and outside spring cleaning. We look forward to ending AmeriCorps Week by having Milford families come together to volunteer and help improve such an important place of refuge for youth in their community. Anyone wishing to volunteer can contact AmeriCorps volunteer Jen Ward at the Youth Center located at 24 Pearl St, Milford, Ma.
The Milford Youth Center and The Juvenile Advocacy Group (JAG) engages AmeriCorps members throughout the year to provide critical services to their community. The Massachusetts Service Alliance (MSA) is pleased to support and celebrate their efforts during AmeriCorps Week by providing resources to grow their volunteer base and engage citizens in their work, said Emily Haber, MSA CEO.
Projects funded under this initiative will help shine a spotlight on volunteer engagement in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts during AmeriCorps Week, observed May 8 – May 15. AmeriCorps Week is an annual event sponsored by the Corporation for National and Community Service. Its purpose is to bring more Americans into service, salute current and former AmeriCorps members, and thank community partners.
